steavenson falls

Cascading 84 metres this is one of the most magnificent waterfalls in the region. The signature of fire scars the landscape and is a reminder of the formidable forces that govern this landscape. The regenerating forest epitomises the resilience of life and symbolises the community spirit that held Maryville together in the wake of the catastrophic black Saturday fires in 2009. A short stroll takes you to the foot of the waterfall where turbulence momentarily subsides into calmness. Another short but more inclined track takes you to the top of the waterfall where the scale of this natural wonder can be appreciated.  For a map and information on nearby walking tracks click here.
